That yellow-green, fast-growing, triangular-stemmed invader that laughs at everything you spray? Nutsedge isn't a broadleaf weed and it isn't a grass — it's a sedge, a different plant family entirely, and the herbicides in general-purpose weed products simply don't work on it. Pulling it is worse: it reproduces from underground tubers ("nutlets"), and breaking the plant off signals the tubers to send up more.

Control takes dedicated sedge herbicides — the halosulfuron and sulfosulfuron class — applied to actively growing plants, usually more than once, because the tuber bank underground empties over a season, not a spraying. It's a specialty problem with a specialty answer, which is exactly why we carry the specialty products instead of pretending one tank mix handles everything.
